The Little Brass Band is an award-winning Goldfields Region Brass Quintet presenting a range of Music Styles from Traditional Jazz, Swing, Classical and ‘Everything’ in between, with their own unique twist!
The music of The Little Brass Band is based around the five-part harmonies and melodies of the vocal lines within a choir. The Little Brass Band utilize various combinations of instruments to create the sound effects and timbres to suit the music. The Flugel horn and Piccolo have been added in the line-up to give variation to the sound landscape and provides a rich tapestry of colour. Musicians: Frank Dyer – Trumpet and Piccolo trumpet. Simon Marcollo– Trumpet and flugel horn. Janice Lynn – French horn. Cassandra Hiscock – Trombone. Matthew Pankhurst – Tuba.
Performances include: Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, Arts in the Park, Begonia Festival, ABC live morning show, Heritage festival, Ballarat Carols by Candlelight, Buninyong Carols by Candlelight, Castlemaine Jazz Festival, Involvement in Community fund-raising concerts including Lifeline Ballarat, Prize winners in the Australian National Busking Championships and the Australian National Band Championships.
