Passionate, soulful and dynamic; Mount Kujo is a Naarm (Melbourne) based act blending Psychedelic Funk, Jazz, Latin and Afro-beat. A vibrant collective of culturally diverse musicians from all around the world, playing lush arrangements of polyrhythms, unexpected changes and explosive horn sections.
Mount Kujo is an international touring act, with festival appearances including Fusion (Germany), Tanglewood, Dragon Dreaming, Port Fairy Jazz and Castlemaine Jazz Festival (Australia). They’ve also brought their high-energy shows to iconic Australian venues such as The Night Cat, The Toff in Town, The Gaso, 24 Moons, and Stay Gold.
While making waves on major stages, the band continues to embrace the intimate energy of small club gigs. They’ve thrived creatively through regular residencies at Bar 303 and Bodriggy Brewery, and maintain a deep connection to their spiritual home Bar Oussou.
In 2020 the jazz collective released their first live album “Live at Bar Oussou”, followed by the release of their studio album ‘Mount Kujo’ (November 2022, vinyl + digital) and their exciting newest offering, ‘Cosmic Cliffs’ (February 2023, vinyl + digital.)
